Specialists on all directions are trained in baccalaureate, magistracy and doctoral candidacy departments.

Specialists trained in the faculty effectively show themselves in construction architecture, town building, and improvement of environment, reconstruction of historical monuments, design and in other fields of this sphere. 

Study at the faculty

School-leavers, who are willing to enter the faculty, have to take part in entrance exams held by the State Students Admittance Committee. The study at the faculty is provided in Azeri, Russian and English languages.

Sphere of practice. Committee on Town building and Architecture of the Republic, the Ministry of Emergency of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Executive Power of Baku city, State Historical and Architecture  reserve “Ichari Sheher” , Institute of Archeology, architecture and Art under the National Academy of Sciences, “Azerberpa”, Project Research Institute closely collaborates with non-governmental organizations in scientific and practical sphere of architecture and design.

Directions of researches. Architectural peculiarities of populated areas of Baku city, summer camps, compositional laws of Azerbaijan architecture of  XI-XVII, formation of the culture system and social service in resort and recreational areas of Azerbaijan, formation of landscape construction of the cities of Azerbaijan (the end of XX – the beginning of XXI), spatial organization of architectural complexes located on the compound relief of Baku city, methods of art and architecture projection of city environment (by example of Baku), Architectural and planning development of industrial enterprises of the city.

International relations. An inventory of Ichari Sheher monuments was made in 2006 with the support of Minnesota University of the USA. Projects were implemented together with «Romualdo Del Bianko» Foundation of Italy,  faculty of architecture of Viena University in Austria. In 2008, our department’s representatives together with the students of Florence university studying on the speciality of reconstruction participated in the workshop held with the support of UNESCO in Baku and Florence. Graduation works and disseratations of Bachelors and Masters of the faculty were presented worthily at architectural universities of CIS countries, at International conferences and competitions held in Italy and International Association REA (France).  In 2009, one graduation work gained the first place at the regional conference held by “Del Bianko” Foundation (Italy) in Baku. Further, 3 graduation works of the department got a first degree diploma in 2009 at the International competition held in Saratov city of the Russian Federation .  In 2010, 1 master’s dissertation got a first degree diploma, 1 graduation work got  a first degree diploma, 1 graduation work got a second degree diploma at the International Conference held in Voronezh. Employees of the faculty successfully took part in international scientific conferences held in Turin, Florence (Italy) and Turkey.  

Annual regional festivals and demonstrations of students’ works are held at the faculty.  Employees of the faculty take an active part in International Conferences held abroad. In order to meet the requirements of international standards of architectural education, the faculty expands its professional relations with architectural schools, The faculty collaborates with such countries as Italy, France, Egypt, Turkey, Iran and etc. 

Faculty. 267 people work at the faculty. 21 of them are professors, 39 candidates of science, docents, teachers and assistants.
