International Conference Dedicated to Environmental Issues in Engineering Systems and Facilities has Begun

Today, an international scientific-practical conference on “Environmental Issues in Engineering Systems and Facilities” has started its work at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC). Representatives from various government agencies, renowned scholars from higher education institutions in the country, and guests from foreign countries participated in the opening ceremony.

 

Arif Sharifov, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of AzUAC, opened the ceremony by highlighting the importance of the scientific conference, drawing attention to serious problems such as environmental protection, disruption of ecological balance, and ensuring environmental safety that concern all humanity today. The Vice-Rector stated that within the framework of the conference, scholars will engage in discussions around the topic, exchange experiences with international colleagues, and aim to achieve certain outcomes for future activities.

 

Following the Vice-Rector’s congratulatory remarks, theAdvisor to the President of Azersu OJSC (AzerWater), Chingiz Abdullayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Board at Azeristiliktejhizat OJSC (provision of heating) Ilham Mirzaliyev, and representative from the Association of Melioration and Water Management OJSC, emphasized the relevance of the conference’s theme and extended their best wishes for the success of the conference. 

 

During the plenary sessions, Professor K.M. Predun from the National University of Construction and Architecture of Kiev presented on “The Environmental and Economic Aspects of Renovating Housing and Communal Facilities in Ukraine,” and Professor Agamir Hashimov, the Chief Director of the Association of Hydrotechnics and Melioration Science Production Union in Azerbaijan, spoke on “Melioration and Water Management in Azerbaijan in the 20th-21st Centuries.”

 

The conference continued its work in sectional meetings. It is worth noting that nearly 100 articles are expected to be presented at the two-day conference.
