Gulchohra Huseyn gizi Mammadova
Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Honored Architect of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Gulchohra Mammadova was born on April 24, 1953 in the Vedi region of Western Azerbaijan. After graduating from high school in 1971, she entered the architectural faculty of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute and in 1976 graduated from the architectural faculty of the newly established Azerbaijan Institute of Civil Engineers. In September 1975, she was elected secretary of the Komsomol committee of the Azerbaijan Institute of Civil Engineers and held this position until 1979. In 1979, she began working as an assistant at the Department of Architectural Constitutions and Restoration of Monuments of the same institute. In 1987, she was elected the head teacher of the department, in 1991, associate professor, and in 2000, professor.
In 1999, she was appointed rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
Her scientific activity is mainly related to the study of the architecture of Caucasian Albania and Christian religious architecture in the territory of Azerbaijan. She has worked on the restoration and scientific reconstruction projects of many monuments.
In 1985s she defended her dissertation on "Early medieval Christian architecture of Caucasian Albania", in 1999s she defended her doctoral dissertation on "Religious architecture of Caucasian Albania".
She has participated in the organization of many international scientific conferences and made presentations, led a number of international projects related to the restoration of architectural monuments.
In 2000-2005 she was a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the second convocation.
She has been a member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan since 1985. The International Academy of Sciences is a full member of the Eastern European Branch and the International Academy of Oriental Architecture. On April 21, 2006 she was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Architect of the Republic of Azerbaijan", on April 11, 2013 she was awarded the Order of Glory, and on June 14, 2016 she was awarded the "Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
Dadashov Sadig Alakbar oglu (1905-1946)
Professor - architectural historian, one of the founders of Soviet architecture in Azerbaijan. Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Architecture (1941). Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR (1945). Azerbaijan. Honored Art Worker of the USSR (1940). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1941).
Sadig Dadasov graduated from the Construction Faculty of the Baku Polytechnic Institute named after M. Azizbayov in 1929.
In 1944, he became the first head of the Department of Architectural Affairs under the Council of People's Commissars of the Azerbaijan SSR.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and medals. Sadig Dadashov died on December 24, 1946.
Sadig Dadashov is the first researcher of Azerbaijan's architectural heritage.
He laid the foundation for the study of the history of Azerbaijani architecture, for this purpose in 1934-1940 and 1944-1946 he organized scientific trips to a number of regions of Azerbaijan.
Sadig Dadashov created his architectural and theoretical works together with the prominent Azerbaijani architect and architectural historian Mikayil Huseynov. On the basis of Sadig Dadashov's project, many residential, public and cultural buildings were built in Baku and other cities of the republic, and these architectural works played a great role in the development of Azerbaijani architecture.
Sadig Dadashov designed 23 buildings in 1929-1933. These include a factory-kitchen in Baku (Bayil), a new building of the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (now the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy), a house for artists, a number of residential complexes, and a building for the Pedagogical College in Gazakh.
Sadig Dadashov's main works include the building of the Azerbaijan Technical University (1935), the Nizami cinema (1934), the Baku Music Academy (1936), the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi (1940) and others. Sadig Dadashov is the author of the project of monuments to Nizami Ganjavi erected in Ganja,1946 and in Baku,1949.

Abdulvahab Rahim oglu Salamzadeh (1916-1983)

Abdulvahab Salamzadeh is one of the first scholars to study the history of our national architecture. The identification of Azerbaijani architectural schools, a comprehensive study of their national, constructive and artistic features, and the determination of their geographical area are connected with his name.
The scientist created a hitherto unknown landscape and history of Azerbaijani architectural schools. He had exceptional services in the study of the history of our art, such as Nakhchivan and Shirvan architectural schools, scientific identification of Tabriz and Arran architectural schools, and their discovery was the direct service of academician Abdulvahab Salamzade.
From 1962, he was the deputy chairman of the Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Azerbaijan. He was closely involved in the restoration of historical monuments.
Academician Abdulvahab Salamzadeh's books are one of the most perfect examples in the history of Azerbaijani architecture. He wrote in different years "Monuments speak" (Baku, 1952), "Architectural monuments of Azerbaijan" (Baku, 1958), "Ajami Nakhchivani" (Baku, 1976), "Monuments along the Araz" (together with K. Mammadzade; Baku, 1979) and many others will still serve science for many years to come. The fundamental work of this prominent scientist together with M.Huseynov and L.Bretanitsky "History of Azerbaijani architecture" (in Russian; Moscow, 1963) is of exceptional importance in the history of our national architecture. He was also the first researcher of the history of urban planning in Azerbaijan, studied the urban culture of our ancient cities such as Shusha and Sheki. He worked as the director of the Institute of Architecture and Art of the National Academy of Sciences.
Kamil Mammadali oglu Mammadzade (1926 - 1998)

Kamil Mammadzade is one of the prominent scientists of the republic. The main direction of his research is the history of construction culture of Azerbaijani architecture and archeology. He is the author of more than 80 scientific works, including five monographs. His monograph "The art of construction in Azerbaijan from ancient times to the XIX century" is of great scientific and practical importance. His monographs "Monuments along the Araz", "Architectural monuments of Sheki", "Monuments of the Nakhchivan school of Azerbaijani architecture" co-authored with academician A.V. Salamzadeh are a great contribution to the architectural science of Azerbaijan.
For a long time he worked at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences.
Shamil Seyfulla oglu Fatullayev
Doctor of Architectural Sciences, Professor, Full Member of ANAS, Honored Architect of the Azerbaijan SSR, Laureate of the State Prize, President of the International Academy of Oriental Architecture
He was born in 1928 in Baku. In 1953 he graduated from the faculty of architecture and construction of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute. In 1956 he was a post-graduate student of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS, in 1963 he defended his PhD, in 1980 he defended his doctoral dissertation, in 1990 he became a professor. Shamil Fatullayev's main activity is the study and promotion of Azerbaijani architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His research is very unique in terms of content, subject matter and issues. Under the guidance of Shamil Fatullayev, he supervised about 15 philosophical and 3 doctoral dissertations on architecture. He has published many monographs, including "Architecture of residential houses in Baku in the late XIX-early XX centuries", "Urban planning architecture of Baku in the late XIX-early XX centuries", "Urban planning and architecture of Azerbaijan in the late XIX-early XX centuries", " Azerbaijani mosques ”,“ Absheron architecture ”,“ Baku architectural encyclopedia ”,“ Iranian cities during the Gajar period ”and the author of others.
Talat Agasibey oglu Khanlarov (1927-2004)
Talat Khanlarov was born on August 26, 1927 in Baku in the family of Agasibey Ali Gulu bey oglu Khanlarov, a graduate of the law faculty of St. Petersburg University, a descendant of the ancient Baku nobility. His mother, Sara, was one of the first graduates of the Azerbaijan Medical University. Talat was the eldest son of the family.
Talat Khanlarov graduated from the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1956.
In 1956-1992, he worked as an architect, chief architect of the project, head of the architectural-design department No. 2, Chief Architect of the State Committee for Construction and Architecture "Azerdovlatlayihe" and created the main author's works.
Since 1992, he headed the "Creative Workshop of Academician T.A.KHanlarov" and the Imam Rza Mosque under construction in Baku and its surrounding settlements, the complex of the Caucasus Islamic University, the Juma Mosque in Narimanov district, the prosecutor's office, several administrative and residential buildings, designed projects of buildings and individual country houses.
From 1967 to 2002, he was a member of the Town Planning Council of the Main Architectural Department of the Baku City Executive Power.
Talat Khanlarov is the author of more than 60 projects, including: Heydar Aliyev Sports Arena, Memar Ajami metro station, Central Statistics Office, Computing Center of the General Procurement Department, administrative buildings of executive authorities in Narimanov and Nizami districts, Olympic rowing base in Mingachevir, Uzeyir in Sumgayit. "Kimyachi" Palace of Culture named after Hajibeyov, Tabriz hotel in Nakhchivan, etc.
Kamal Huseynaga oglu Mammadbeyov (1924-1997)
Prominent architect of the USSR and Azerbaijan, academician of the International Academy of Oriental Architecture, honored architect of the Azerbaijan SSR
The first research on urban planning and architecture of Sumgayit was conducted by Kamal Mammadbayov. The book "Sumgayit" is dedicated to the architecture and urban planning of the city (1988). Architect Kamal Mammadbayov, along with the complete assembly and preparation of the book for publication and drawing, as well as fixing, artistic design and modeling of the monograph, performed the painting of the book.
Jafar Ali oglu Giyasi
Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences
Jafar Ali oglu Giyasi was born in 1942 in the village of Husna, Ardabil, the ancient city of Azerbaijan. In 1946, he moved with his family to Nukha, Northern Azerbaijan. Then in 1967-1971 he worked at the Institute "Soyuzkurortproyekt" and attracted attention not only in Baku, but also in Moscow with interesting and unusual architectural solutions of his projects. In 1971 he entered the full-time graduate school of the Institute of Architecture and Art of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. and studied the medieval architectural heritage of South Azerbaijan, defended his PhD on the basis of analysis of urban planning and architectural environment, and in 1997 defended his doctoral dissertation on "Architect Khaja Alishah Tabrizi" (period and creativity). J.Giyasi was elected a corresponding member of ANAS in 2001, in 2007 he was awarded the title of professor. After graduating, Jafar Giyasi, who worked as a researcher at the Institute of Architecture and Art of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, was elected head of the laboratory "Problems of measurement and restoration of architectural monuments" in 1989. "Azerbarpa" Appointed director of the Scientific Research Project Institute. The scientific researches of the scientist are more fully reflected in his published monographs. He is the author of more than 200 scientific articles and 9 monographs. His works “Absheron Boylari” (1971), “Near and Far Lands” (1985), “Architectural Monuments of the Nizami Period” (1991), “Fortresses and Castles in Azerbaijan” (1994), “Armenian Cultural Terror” (1996) and others made new contributions to the science of architecture. Along with his scientific activity, J. Giyasi is the author of a number of projects. He was awarded the "Best Construction Facility" in Moscow for the design of a sanatorium building built in Shusha in 1971 during the Soviet era. The “Razor” monument in Ankara, the museum project in Gobustan, the tomb bust of the national poet M.Araz, Rafael Allahverdiyev, Abulfaz Elchibey are among the remarkable works of the scientist. The author was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2009 for the project of the Turksoy service building in Ankara. Giyasi is a scientific adviser to a number of restoration projects in Azerbaijan. The researcher-scientist has repeatedly spoken at international and national conferences in Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, the United States. (Icheri Sheher, including Gobustan, Shirvanshahs Palace, Maiden Tower) led the development of a collection of documents for inclusion in the "World Heritage" list.
J. Giyasi has been engaged in pedagogical activity for more than 28 years. He has been teaching at AzAU since 1983 and has been the scientific supervisor of a number of PhD and master's dissertations.
Corresponding member of ANAS, professor J.Giyasi is also engaged in public activity. He is a member of the expert council, the board of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Presidium of the Union of Architects.
Feyzulla Agasafar oglu Guliyev
Honored Architect of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Corresponding Member of the International Academy of Oriental Architecture.
He was born in 1940. In 1958-1964 he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute named after Chingiz Yildirim.
He worked as an architect in Kazakhstan for about five years. During this time, he prepared master plans for the cities of Abay, Shakhtinsky and Saran in the Karaganda region, and was the author of detailed plans for a number of residential areas in the city of Karaganda, including projects such as an indoor ice rink, a pioneer and schoolchildren's palace.
For a long time he held a responsible position at the Baku State Design Institute. He is the only Azerbaijani author of the General Plan of Baku, compiled during the USSR.
He is currently an urban development consultant in the preparation of the Greater Baku Regional Development Plan, supported by the World Bank. He is also an associate professor at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts.
Rahim Seyfullayev
Honored Architect of Azerbaijan, full member of the International Academy of Oriental Architecture
He was born in 1944 in Baku. They received their education at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute. He started his architectural practice at the Project Institute (“Azerdovletlayihe”), and two years later moved with his family to Norilsk, where he continued his work at the Project Institute (“Norilskproekt”). A year later, he was invited to work as a designer in a painting studio. The workshop designed the public interior of the city. In 1976 he was a member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, and in 1980 of the Union of Artists. On his return to Baku, he worked as the chief artist of Baku. He has been engaged in personal practice since 1992. In 1999, he was elected a full member of the International Academy of Oriental Architecture.
He has been an honored architect of Azerbaijan since 2002. In 2014, he was awarded the Order of Glory.
Isbatov Ilgar Aydin oglu
Chairman of the Town Planning Commission of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Azerbaijan Isbatov Ilgar Aydin oglu was born in 1964 in Baku. In 1981 he entered the Faculty of Architecture of the Azerbaijan Institute of Engineering and Construction. He continued his education in 1984 at the Faculty of Urban Planning of the Moscow Institute of Architecture and graduated in 1987 with honors.
On April 21, 1987, he began his career as an architect in the General Plan Workshop of the Baku State Design Institute. Since 1998, he has been the Chief Architect at the “Azerdovletlayihe” State Chief Design Institute, and since 2008 he has been the Director of the Baku State Design Institute. By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 19, 2019, Ilgar Isbatov was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He is the author of more than 100 architectural projects: the educational building of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the reconstruction of schools 18, 41, 132-134, the administrative building of the Gabala Executive Power, a high-rise apartment building for foreign workers on M.Ibrahimov Street, a high-rise multifunctional building on Moscow Avenue, etc.
He has been a member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan since 1993. In 2008, he was awarded the "Master Architect" certificate of high professionalism. In 2010 he was awarded the "Progress" medal, in 2012 he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Architect of Azerbaijan". In 2017, he was elected a professor of the Moscow branch of the International Academy of Architecture, and was awarded the Order of Glory for his services to the development of architecture in Azerbaijan by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 18, 2017.
Nazim Valiyev

He was educated at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1970-1979. He passed architectural practice in the Special Design and Estimation Bureau of the Baku City Executive Committee, in the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Baku City Executive Power, in the architectural companies “EL&EN”, “Project Construction” LLC. He was educated at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1966-1971. He gained architectural experience in the leading design institutes of Azerbaijan in 1971-1990 and worked as a freelance architect.
He has been working as a chief architect at Project Construction LLC since 2007.

Imamaliyev Nariman Majid
Chairman of the Commission on Architectural Creativity of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Azerbaijan Imamaliyev Nariman Majid oglu was born in 1971. He studied at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction in 1988-1990 and continued his education at the Krakow Polytechnic University in 1990-1994. In 1994-1998 he worked as an architect in the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Baku City Executive Power, in 1997-1998 as an architect in “Azersun Holding” LLC, in 1998-2001 as an architect in “El & En” architectural company. Since 2001, he is the founder and chief architect of Nariman Memarlig architectural company.
Nariman Imamaliyev has been a member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan since 1997. In 2012, he was elected a member of the Board of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan.
He has repeatedly won national and international competitions. He is the author of many projects: Chirag Plaza in Baku, a 14-storey hotel and office building on Tbilisi Avenue; “Azercosmos” OJSC Main Satellite Control Center; Residential complex in Barvikha settlement in Moscow, etc.
In 2008 he was awarded the certificate of high professionalism "Master Architect" by the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan. In 2012, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Architect of the Republic" by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 1. Since 2015, he is a professor at the Moscow branch of the International Academy of Architecture.
Babakishiyev Rasim Jalal
Chairman of the Board of Professional Ethics of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rasim Jalal oglu Babakishiyev was born in 1956 in Derbent. In 1979, he graduated from the architectural faculty of the Azerbaijan Institute of Civil Engineers and began working in the Special Project Estimate Bureau of the Baku City Council of People's Deputies. 1983-1988 Group Leader at the State Institute for the Design of Trade and Catering Enterprises; General Director of AzExCo Company from 2002 to 2013; Since June 2015, he is the General Director of "AMI PROJECT" creative architectural project association.
Rasim Babakishiyev is the author of many interesting projects: in Baku - the project of the International Terminal Complex on the 14th kilometer of the Baku-Salyan highway, the project of the hotel "RAMADA", etc. , Shah Palace Hotel project, etc .; The project of “RAMADA PLAZA” hotel in Ganja, the project of the building of the Executive Power in Goygol city, the project of “Sheki Palace” hotel in Sheki, etc.

He has been a member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan since 1986. In 2008, Ustad Memar was awarded a high degree of professionalism. In 2012, he was awarded the Medal of Progress by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his services to the development of architecture in Azerbaijan. On November 25, 2016, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Architect" by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev.
Since 2017, he is a professor at the Moscow branch of the International Academy of Architecture.
Agayev Famil Adil
Agayev Famil Adil oglu was born in 1967 in Sumgayit city. In 1991 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Azerbaijan Institute of Engineering and Construction. Since 1997 he has been the director of the architectural company S-MODUS. Famil Agayev is the author of many projects. During his architectural career, he repeatedly won international architectural competitions.
In 2012, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Architect".

İlkin olaraq indiki Neft Akademiyasının nəzdindəki İnşaat fakültəsinin tərkibində Memarlıq bölməsi kimi mövcud olmuşdur. 1968-ci ildə inşaat fakültəsindən memarlıq bölməsinin ayrılması nəticəsində memarlıq fakültəsi yaradılmışdır. Memarlıq fakültəsində 2 istiqamətdə memarlıq və dizayn sahəsi üzrə tədris olunan fənlərin elmi-təcrübi fəaliyyətinin əsas məqsədi layihələndirmə prosesinin mənimsənilməsinə yönəldilmişdir. Yaranma tarixi. Memarlıq fakültəsinin 90 ildən artıq yaşı vardır.
İlkin olaraq indiki Neft Akademiyasının nəzdindəki İnşaat fakültəsinin tərkibində Memarlıq bölməsi kimi mövcud olmuşdur. 1968-ci ildə inşaat fakültəsindən memarlıq bölməsinin ayrılması nəticəsində memarlıq fakültəsi yaradılmışdır. Memarlıq fakültəsində 2 istiqamətdə memarlıq və dizayn sahəsi üzrə tədris olunan fənlərin elmi-təcrübi fəaliyyətinin əsas məqsədi layihələndirmə prosesinin mənimsənilməsinə yönəldilmişdir. Fakültənin bakalaviatura, magistratura və doktorantura bölməsində hər bir istiqamətdə olan ixtisaslar üzrə kadr hazırlığı aparılır. Fakültəni bitirən mütəxəssislər memarlıq, şəhərsalma, ətraf mühitin dizaynı, tarixi abidələrin bərpası, dizayn və s. sahələrdə səmərəli fəaliyyət göstərirlər.
Fakültədə təhsil. Fakültəyə daxil olmaq istəyən abituriyentlər qabiliyyət seçimindən sonra Tələbə Qəbulu üzrə Dövlət Komissiyasının keçirdiyi qəbul (test) imtahanlarında iştirak edir və universitetdə rəsm və rəsmxətdən qabiliyyət imtahanı verirlər.
