Museum
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, the University History Museum and Exhibition Hall were established in February 2000 on the initiative of the rector, doctor of architecture, academician of the International Academy of Sciences, MP, professor Gulchohra Mammadova. Our university played an important role in the development of the republic's economy in the training of highly qualified architects and builders.
Two corners of the museum are dedicated to the life of our national leader Heydar Aliyev in connection with the development of education, construction, building and landscaping in the country.
In general, the museum consists of 12 corners. Here are documents reflecting the history of the University, its glorious path, visual aids about the university's publications, information about the rectors who led the institution since its establishment and their portraits, scientists, teachers and prominent builders, architects, artists who worked at AzUAC in different years. Information about their research work, manuscripts, inventions and rationalization proposals, collections of scientific works, monographs, photographic materials, newspaper, magazine articles, various souvenirs, albums, video cassettes, disks, mock-ups, gifts to the museum, etc. is collected and displayed.
In addition, the museum has a historical corner of the university, a section dedicated to the honorary doctor of the university, former President of Turkey Suleyman Demirel, famous graduates of our university, state, scientific and cultural figures of Azerbaijan (S. Dadashov, M. Huseynov, K. Bagirov, H. Hasanov ), leading teachers, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Afghan soldiers, our students killed in the events of January 20 (AY Gayibov, FYBabayev, MA Muradov, BMALiyev), martyrs, invalids and veterans killed in the battles for Karabakh (The university lost more than 50 teachers and students in this war) 7 of them were posthumously named National Heroes of Azerbaijan (Ch.F. Mustafayev, RB Ganbarov, KA Mirzayev, BTAgayev, M.I. Rustamov, KBNasibov, ESHuseynov) a martyr's corner dedicated to them was organized in the museum. Items and materials belonging to our students and teachers who were martyred in the battles for the territorial integrity of our lands are displayed here. A bas-relief dedicated to our architect, poet, martyred student Fuad Garib oglu Asadov, who died heroically in the battles for Karabakh, was unveiled in the lobby of the educational building. On January 19, 2012, at the ceremony dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy, the "Martyrs' Memorial Corner" in the lobby of the university's educational building No. 1 was opened in a new design after the overhaul of the building. The dear memory of our students who rose to the summit of martyrdom is always remembered. Meetings are held with their family members and comrades on the front, their graves are visited.
The museum also displays information about the development of individual faculties, student campus, the life of foreign students, their recreation, student construction teams, student youth organizations, international relations of our teachers and students, conferences, symposiums.
The museum also displays "Famous traveler, historian and ethnographer Tour Heyerdahl and AzUAC", the university's scientific council, our library, "Inshaatchi kadrlar" newspaper, public organizations - Trade Unions, Women's Council, Veterans Council.
It should be noted that the museum has held dozens of interesting events, meetings and exhibitions since its inception.
Physical education and sports are highly developed at the university. This is evidenced by the fact that our students won gold, silver medals and trophies in international competitions. The museum displays awards, honorary degrees, diplomas and trophies won by our students.
The main and auxiliary fund of the museum preserves more than 5,000 museum materials. So far, the museum has been visited by more than 4,000 spectators. The vast majority of them are young people and teenagers.
