Another Step Towards Internationalization - Details of Cooperation Between AzUAC and IAAR Discussed

The Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC) was visited by Alina Jumagulova, the General Director of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating of Kazakhstan (IAAR), and Olga Yanovskaya, a consultant of the agency.

The management of AzACU participated in a round table discussion where ideas about potential areas of cooperation were discussed.

In his speech, the Vice-Rector for educational affairs of AzACU, Professor Akif Gasimov provided extensive information about the university, faculties, specializations, and the vision of the higher education institution. The Vice-Rector noted the significance of the quality factor for the university and the need of working in this direction, pointing out that the primary goals of AzACU are internationalization, representation in advanced rankings, and further adaptation of education to meet international standards. 

In her turn, Alina Jumagulova gave detailed information about the criteria for the international accreditation of educational programs of IAAR, the agency she leads. She mentioned that the criteria of the agency are set in compliance with the requirements of international standards, and IAAR is an organization accredited by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).

It should be mentioned that Strategic Development Plan of AzUAC has included the issue of international accreditation of educational programs in order to achieve internationalization of higher education.
