Department for International Relations

History and mission. 25 foreign students from Jordan, Vietnam, Palestine and Pakistan entered Azerbaijan Institute of Construction Engineers in 1977. In Construction faculty were appointed curators for foreign students. In 1979 the numbers of students increased more than 100 and therefore here was established the dean office of foreign students. In 1984 in Azerbaijan Institute of Construction Engineers was established the first Preparation course for foreign students after Oil Academy. After having trainings for 10 months foreign students were able to continue their education in different Institutes of Post Soviet.

Till 1984 the international relations of the institute were organized in the former Scientific Research department. 1984 was organized Department for International Relations. In this period the international relations between Iran, Turkey, Syria, Germany and Afghan were improving. Among 10 cities of Turkey – Batman, Erzurum, Igdir, Ankara, Diyarbakir, Istanbul, Antep, Sivas were organized Centers of Educational Advice of Azerbaijan Institute of Construction Engineers and the missions of the teachers of Azerbaijan Institute of Construction Engineers were conducted there.

According to the active function of the department in Europe was organized full course, improvement of professional skills course, pedagogical activity and exchange of students. The teachers of Azerbaijan Institute of Construction Engineers were sent to China, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Chez republic to improve their professional skills, to India, Indonesia, and Syria teachers were sent for 10 month training, Russian teachers were sent to USA, Great Britain, France, Japan, Poland, Afghan, Kampuchea, Tunis, Morocco, Mali, and Guiney, Jamaica for pedagogical activities.

And also every year in summer months were held students exchange programs for 21 days with Warsaw University (Poland), Bratislava Technical University (Chez Republic) and Weimar Construction and Architecture University (Germany)   

The main purpose of International Relations Department –to establish international relations with the most developed Universities of all over the world, educational centers, Funds and Organizations which support Sciences. With the help of these relations International Relations Department organizes exchange of teachers and students, scientific-practical conferences and symposiums.
