History and mission. The faculty was founded in 1975. From the beginning of foundation the faculty was functioning under the name of Road-building. The faculty is engaged in personnel training in the field of projection, construction and exploitation of highways, bridges, tunnels and engineering constructions, as well as applied geodesy works on exact estimation and assessment  of urban lands, real estates, shopping centers, squares and engineering constructions. Alongside with corresponding republic organizations, the faculty also closely collaborates with foreign countries.

Employees of the faculty actively participate in International projects connected with improvement of transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan. Citizens of Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan study at this faculty as well.

 

Study at the faculty. School-leavers, who are willing to enter the faculty, have to take part in entrance exams of the State Students Admittance Committee. The study at the faculty is provided in Azeri and Russian languages.

 

Specialities:

 

 

Subjects: Highways, construction and exploitation of highways, artificial structures on highways, city roads and streets, crossroads and border crossing, railways, projection of bridges, construction and exploitation of bridges, geoinformational systems (GIS), higher geodesy, land and multipurpose cadastre, city cadastre, economic assessment of real estate, geodetic gravimetry, applied geodesy, cosmic geodesy, road conditions and security, traffic organization, technical regulation means of traffic organization, security of vehicles, traffic regulations, transport engine, trasportaion and unique transportation system, automobiles, transport logistics.

 

Sphere of practice: Students studying at the faculty have technological and work experience, gaining skills in all structures within the Ministry of Transport, joint company “AzWIRT” Germany-Azerbaijan, Baku Underground, Azerkorpu-OJST, State Land and Cartography Committee, State Register Service on real estate. Research works in the following directions are being held at the department of Transport construction and traffic organization: improvement of transport and operation indicators of highways and engineering structures, investigation, testing and assessment of  load-carrying ability of bridges and constructions. Researches on high-precision cosmic geodesic network of class 0 and 1, established in Azerbaijan, are being held at the department of Engineering geodesy. Instrument management and assessment of transport and operation quality of highways laboratories are functioning here.  Research works of faculty members have been published in many foreign countries.

International Relations: There are close relations with the universities of Iran, Turkey and Russia.

 

Faculty: There are 65 employees at the faculty: 5 of them are professors, 41 candidates of science, docents, and other teachers and assistants.
